Samsung Galaxy J3 / J5 (2017) DUOS J330 / J530 Display Replacement

Before you start

This repair guide will show you how to use your newly purchased iTG® original display repair set to repair your Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) SM-J530F smartphone. As the repair procedure is essentially the same, the guide can also be used for the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) SM-J330F. If you have not yet purchased the repair set, you can do so by visiting one of our Amazon webshops from the “Our Products” section of the menu bar above. This guide is suitable for when your display is cracked, damaged, no longer responds to touch correctly or stays black when you try to power on your phone.

Before starting the repair, make sure you have read our disclaimer here. Also please make sure all the parts of the supplied repair set are included. If you find that there is something missing or damaged, please contact us before proceeding.

the repair procedure

Before starting with the repair, we recommend first watching the repair video completely from start to finish. This will give you an overview of the different steps involved. You can then start the video again from the beginning and follow along with the process.

PLEASE NOTE: When you reach the step which requires you to install your new display, please first make a test connection and power on your phone to make sure the display is functioning correctly BEFORE removing any of the protective plastic. While it is very unlikely, in the event that the display unit is faulty, we can only accept returns if we receive the part back in an unused condition.

If the phone is already powered on when you connect the new display, it is very likely that the display will not respond to touch or button presses and will remain black. In this case simply hold the “volume down” and “power” buttons together for 10 seconds or more. This will power cycle the phone and the display should then work.
